Emergen-C

So I woke up yesterday morning with a sore throat & the only way I think I could have gotten it is by those pesky headsets we use at work. I carried around chloraseptic spray in my purse along with a few nutritional supplement pops [[they're my younger brothers.. it was the closest thing my mom had to cough drops]] but it didn't seem to kill the cough. Mom had me take some Emergen-C tonight.. this stuff tastes like crushed up asprin mixed with water with a hint of tangerine. Yuck. Hopefully it'll do the trick.

I still had to work today from 9am - 4pm despite my illness.. there's no calling out at my job. I tried my best to stay away from making people's drinks & stuck to cleaning duties. The last thing I need is a bunch of sick angry starbucks customers.. not much different than what we get anyway, but at least we can attempt to avoid the sick part. Of course I have to be fair, we do have many customers that I adore & love seeing their beautiful faces everyday. There's one customer in particular that I absolutely love & his name is Ed. I wish more people in this world were like Mr. Ed. Every evening he comes in you can always count on those same few words to put a smile on your face. "How's the world treatin' you today?" I respond with my usual, "It's treating me just great Mr. Ed.. what about you?" He smiles and replies, "Oh that's good to hear! It's treating me well, too!" I've never seen him have a bad day & you can tell he truly loves & appreciates life. Kudos Mr. Ed! I'd also like to know who came up with the phrase 'kudos'. I'm not even sure what those are. I think of those snack bars mom used to put in my lunch back in elementary school...

On another note, I've been listening to a lot of Chris Thile lately. He really never ceases to amaze me. He's an absolute musical genious & definitely a huge contributor to my love for mandolin. If you've never checked him out you're missing out! Check out any of his albums really, but my favorites right now are 'Not All Who Wander Are Lost', 'Deceiver', & 'How to Grow a Woman from the Ground'. I listen to his stuff and wonder what in the heck I'm supposed to be doing with my life. God's got something out there for me, & it would be amazing if it had something to do with music, but if not I'm willing to wait & be open for whatever He has in mind for me.

Sanitizing headsets in the future,
Kristin
